Looks like my dog, Dutch

This lovely dalmation looks a lot like one that shared my life a long time ago.  Her name was Dutch, and she and her sister Roxanne were found running loose in the state land.

Haven Hill is a small property which, over the years, has allowed me to rescue and rehabilitate numerous abused or neglected animals.  Encroached upon now by developments, it still retains it's wild quality and is home to deer and game birds which I do my best to protect with posting.

Hi, my name is Mary, and I love animals.  I'll be adding pictures of Haven Hill as I go, and get better at this.  Hope you enjoy.
These ducks were at Haven Hill last year. I called them motorboats because of the way they'd scoot across the pond.  They were great fun.  This is one mother duck and her ducklings.
Over the winter, they developed an unfortunate habit of escaping from our barnyard and terrorizing the neighbors' bird feeders.  Despite adding sunflower seeds to their food, we were unable to break the escape cycle and had to find them another home.  Did you ever try to round up ducks?  These guys can fly !
Barry's goats had a lot of fun around the barnyard when we dug the second pond.  The black one was especially fond of the trees and kept chewing them down.  It's a little hard to see, but she's reaching for a tree branch here.  Sadly, the water never really got clear and I haven't tried swimming in it, but the ducks surely love it.
UPDATE - May 1 - talking with Barry last week and it seems that one of our duck escapees did a good job.  She's returned to the barn now, enjoying the company of our last old goose.  She must have been in the woods during the duck round-up this winter.  It's good to see a "motorboat" on the pond again.

What's New?  Look for more pictures coming soon.

My recent trip to Gettysburg was wonderful and some of the pictures will be coming along shortly.  For the end of April, it was like summer there - beautiful blue sky, balmy temps, trees in full bloom.  All the lilacs were out.  What a change from here, where we're still struggling to get the trees in bud.
WOW !  My computer course ended last night and I had a short lesson in html in addition to bulding a web page for the cats that share my life.  Check out MacG's page at http://www.geocities.com/maryo552003/MacG.html..
